Founded in late 2001 by several community members, Ontario Rainbow Alliance of the Deaf (ORAD) started by providing several social events to members and non-members.
In 2004, ORAD finally became an organization when the first by-laws were introduced, and the first newly elected Board of Directors was adopted by the membership. Since 2004, the ORAD Board of Directors has been providing many different social events and several educational workshops to all members and non-members that supports our organization’s mission statement.

Achievement and Performance
- We had our Pride Fund raiser party.
- We were at Mayfest.
- We were in the Pride parade.
- We had a Halloween and New Year's Eve Party.
- The Board met monthly and best of all.
- We had our monthly coffee social.
- We established our New By-laws.
